My name is Amanda Lovette. I decided to become a doctor when I was only 5 years old! I told my grandma I would be a doctor so I could take care of her when she got old! I got side tracked over the intervening years with wanting to be an astronaut and a physicist (the usual things!) but came back to my first love in college when I decided that medicine was what I really wanted to do. From there I went to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and became infatuated with Pediatrics in my third year. How cool it was to go to work and play with cute kids all day long! I graduated in 1996 and went to work as a resident at Children’s Medical Center. My grandma was just a little upset that I had decided to take care of young small parts instead of big old parts! Now, being a resident is no walk in the park, but taking care of the kids was definitely the best thing about it! I decided to have a child in my second year of residency and, sure enough, Ethan came along, and Joshua arrived shortly after my residency finished. I worked for a practice in Highland Village for almost 6 years and loved it, but I got here as soon as I could!

Travel - we all look forward to a fun vacation, though sometimes we have to come back home to rest up! [more]
